Event: Bird’s Jam 1# Birds Theme

We are excited to kick off 2025 with our first Womxn - Bird’s Jam 2025, in association with Mortar Projects who are artists in residence at Westway.
Bird's Jam 2025 is not just a single event but the beginning of a series of paint jams. We have secured several walls across Westway, which will serve as canvases for artists to express their creativity. These spaces are designed to provide a safe and welcoming environment where Womxn artists can come together to our pre-organised meet & greets to collaborate without the concerns of getting hassle for painting on the streets.
Theme: ‘Birds’. Mural’s are to be associated with bird(s) the egg laying animal with feathers and a beak!, dead or alive, small, large abstract…
Event: Bird’s Jam 2# - Theme Black and White
Event Concluded
We are excited to host our 2nd edition of our Womxn only - Bird’s Jam 2025, in association with Mortar Projects who are artists in residence at Westway Industrial Park.
Theme: ‘Black & White’. This theme is around reducing our colour palette, with an option to add one additional block colour if needed and giving artists the freedom from the complexities of working in colour, OR it might be more of a challenge.

Emails have gone out to those who have signed up to our mailing list, for our 3rd edition of Bird's Jam 🐦, our Womxn only paint Jam of 2025, facilitating a safe space to create, for women & non-binary artists.
We have limited spaces, if you haven't signed up & you’d like to participate in a meet & greet and create mural magic, please sign up for updates through the Mortar Projects | Artist Mailing List, which you can find in my insta 🔗 bio.
Our theme this time is nostalgia, which is a subject we played with before for a casual spray! and we were just not finished with it yet. 🎨
Please note that this event is by invite only for artists and not for public access. (We will share progress and final photos with you online).
Currently, we don’t have funding, so it will be a bring-your-own-paint event. We welcome any sponsorship to support covering materials!

Paint Jam: Kicking It Clydeside
Mortar Projects presents ‘Kicking It Clydeside” We have been talking a lot on how much we want to get everyone together again for an end of the summer Jam, So why not have a casual meet-up at Glasgow’s very finest street art and graffiti hot spot by the Clyde.

Event & Gallery: Springburn Art Festival- Coming soon (TBC DATES)
Springburn Auditorium CIC and Mortar Projects in collaboration will be returning again this summer to present Springburn Art Fest - September 2025. Hosting a free gallery and local artist market with Live Graffiti Art, taking place at Springburn Auditorium in Springburn Park. Come along to the free event, see some art, there will also be kids activities. Tea, coffee, juice and other refreshments will be available.
This event has been led by Philippa Tomlin: Hysterious over the last couple of years which has brought several artists together to paint the outside of the Auditorium.
